6 Hour 1 Day Paediatric First Aid Course

Our One Day (6 hour Paediatric) First Aid Course provides the most up to date and essential First Aid information for nannies, whilst also meeting all the  requirements for the OFSTED Voluntary Register.

This course is suitable for Nannies, Au Pairs, Babysitters, Parents and Child Carers wishing to join the Voluntary part of the OFSTED Childcare Register (OCR) and is designed to meet the guidelines laid down by Sure Start for anyone wishing to register with the Childcare Approval Scheme for nannies working in the home.
The course is designed for Child Carers who work with young children and require the necessary knowledge to cope with an emergency and be able to recognise and respond to the emergency needs of a child with chronic medical conditions or who have injured themselves. The course is also ideal for babysitters, parents and grandparents.

Course Content:

Management of the sick or injured child
First aid priorities - Primary assessment
Management of an unconscious child and infant
Recovery position
Resuscitation (CPR) - Baby & Child
Airway disorders including choking, asthma and croup
Treatment of shock
Treatment of burns and scalds
Poisoning
Management of wounds and severe bleeding
Head injuries
Eye & Ear injuries
Injuries to bones, joints and muscles
Anaphylactic Shock
Childhood illnesses including Meningitis and Seizures (Febrile Convulsions)

On completion of this course you will be awarded a certificate valid for 3 years
